Joplin’s Corvette Club
Join the 4 State Vette Club members for five fun filled and educational seminars to help you get an insight on how to participate in the 4 State Vette Corvette club’s autocross events for 2010.
Evening Seminars held on the Third Tuesday evening of January, February and March, 2010:
January
19. 2010, @ 7 PM: A truly beginners seminar
touching on the basics. The
fundamentals of how the autocross event works, from Grid rules to Tech
Inspections and Course and Safety rules.
We will even discuss costs, equipment required and locations for future
events.
February
16, 2010 @ 7 PM Explanations of Driver’s
meetings to working an event and how to overcome the initial over-excitement
you will feel the first time you drive the course.
March
16, 2010 @ 7PM. Walking the course and what
to look for in positioning and speed and breaking. (This seminar will be a more in-depth review of driving
technique.)
March
20, 2010 @ 11AM at Arma, KS High
School. A practice event for 4 State
Vette club members and seminar participants to review and participate in an
informal practice event with all rules in place. You can drive and you can also ride with any one of the
instructors from the Seminars to learn from them.
April
10, 2010 @ 1 PM Northpark Mall Joplin.
Our first formal Autocross event.
Instructors from the Seminar will be available to walk the course and to
ride with you for instruction.
All
3 evening meetings will be held at Granny Schaffer’s Restaurant on
Rangeline Rd. in Joplin. All Seminars
will be held during dinner. We will
expect you to eat with us as we participate in the Seminars. Each seminar should take no more than 2
hours.
There
will be white boards for illustration and videos to help show all of the
fundamentals that we will be reviewing.
Your only cost for these
seminars is the price of your meals at Granny Schaeffer’s (you order from the
menu) and your first Autocross Registration fee of
$35.00 for the April 10, 2010 autocross event. This will be payable the night of the first Seminar, January 19,
2010.
